  • Further increased the accuracy of our calculators to match what will be used at makerfaire 
  • Had a technical conference call with maxwell where we got to ask questions on how the capacitors will behave in our project
  • Decided to stick with four motors in parallel, still deciding on 48 or 24V. 
  •  Decided on what and where our mechanism will be placed and where our thrid and fourth rails will go
    • this might change based on dans idea and the track will be thinner

Wayside Power Small Scale Prototype:  Update 4 Weeks remaining Issues this week:   Maxwell has still not gotten back to us, so we have begun to look for cheaper alternatives If we create a supercap bank made up with many 2.7V cells in combination of series and parallel, we will be able to save money. This does cause the charging time to increase to about 4 minuets, up from about 45 seconds, as each cell can only handle about 30A of current vs 2000A with the other more expensive modules.   We will have to solder all of these together.  We will have to create a casing to hold and easily assemble, dissemble.  We can use SAB MOSFETS to balance our series stack and prevent overcharging instead of trying to match a mosfet of the shelf with our ucap modules, this is a good thing! Week 10 - UCAP Update, Power Curves, Flow Chart. Mechanism Cad/Materials, etc

Actual Flow chart for Controls and wayside teams to program (event-driven): This week there were a lot of changes in motor specs and power requirements but it looks like we will be running with 2 Hub motors now instead of four. This changes our numbers slightly but we have modified them. We are thinking of getting two of each of these for a total of 4 UCAPs: https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=BMOD0083%20P048%20B01 and https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=BMOD0165%20P048%20C01 . The difference in Capacitance will allow us to fully charge the onboard to about 48V.  ON-BOARD UCAPS DISCHARGE CURVE WITH 1000W LOAD: (for two motors, 500W each). This will be made up of two 48V 83F each in parallel.
