Individual Blog 1: Tynan Winters

Took wayside lead exchanged emails and numbers with other leads

Week 5: Team Blog

Main presentation one completed Wayside group meeting Team lead group meeting Further increased the accuracy of our calculators to match what will be used at makerfaire  Had a technical conference call with maxwell where we got to ask questions on how the capacitors will behave in our project Decided to stick with four motors in parallel, still deciding on 48 or 24V.   Decided on what and where our mechanism will be placed and where our thrid and fourth rails will go this might change based on dans idea and the track will be thinner

Week 4 Team Blog

Conference call made with our industry sponsor Maxwell technologies They will be helping us choose the appropriate UCAPs Preliminary drawings on our mechanism   Finished project proposal  Created two calculators one: A max weight calculator to get the bogie moving and to overcome static friction two: UCAP calculator which determines how much power output you will get with a certain amount of modules in series or parallel.

Week 3: Team Blog

Did some brainstorming on the orientation of the mechanism Considered bicycle brakes and torsion springs tapered rail when entering station Supercapacitors   Looking forward to meeting, Questions include: We need something that can charge fast Discharge slowly Output constant voltage and current Power needs 20KW (26Hp) dc-dc converter https://www.desmos.com/calculator/cvujtzvw5y  Graph: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/voctl5qynq

Week 2: Team Formation and Background Research

We are the Full Scale Wayside Power sub-team under the Full-Scale Guideway and Bogie Team. our team is very important because we are focused on creating a power pick up system from the solar panels and delivered to the bogie. Some of the responsibilities include, creating a mechanism that will make contact to a third rail that is simple, safe and efficient.
